- 'Rabajà - firmly structured, tannic Barbaresco
- Seamless rendition of this famous Cru

Produttori del Barbaresco has often been referenced as the 'greatest value in age-worthy wine' when their Barbaresco could be purchased widely and deeply by wine lovers and cellared confidently for up to 20 years or more. Now, with the world awake to the quality and beauty of nebbiolo from Piedmonte, the wines have steadily increased in price but can still represent excellent value compared to their peers. Produttori's Rabajà is one of their most famous wines, well known for its imposing tannins and ageability. 2013 is no different, however the vintage has given this wine a charming, filigree quality not often seen so early on. Contolled and utterly delicious.
The 2013 Barbaresco Riserva Rabajà is shockingly seamless in this tasting. Deep layers of fruit virtually bury the tannins, something that is so unusual for a young Rabajà. A host of dark blue- tone fruits, lavender, mint, violet and spice race across the palate in an utterly vivid, compelling Barbaresco of the highest level. Perhaps I caught the Rabajà on an unusually open day, but it is terrific and also quite refined for such a young wine. Drinking window: 2023-2043
