- Made by winemaker from iconic Burgundy estate
- Winemaker - Francois Millet from Comte de Vogue
- "The result is a wine of rare beauty” - John Saker
This Pinot Noir was made by Francois Millet, winemaker at the iconic Chambolle Musginy estate of Domaine Georges Comte de Vogue. Francois even insisted on flying in his own hand pumps to ensure that the wine was made using the same tools exactly as he would in Burgundy. 100% destemmed from one parcel of the home block. Vinified in tank with one plunge by hand. Aged in 33% new oak for 17 months.
"This is quite unlike most dense, dark Central Otago pinots you might have tasted in the past: it's floral, open-textured and spicy, with very pretty layers of perfumed fruit. It is youthful and eager to please at the moment, but I suspect it will reveal even more complexity and depth with cellaring” - Max Allen
