- One of the great winemakers of the Northern Rhone
- Pure, fragrant syrah
- Great value
Young Stephane Ogier needs little introduction to lovers of syrah and wines from the Northern Rhône. His wines, especially from Côte-Rôtie, enjoy cult status and are revered the world over yet it is not just his top cuvees that are in demand. Stephane is widely known as being one of the best exponents of crafting superb wines from lesser terroirs such as Vin de Pay and recently Seyssuel just near Vienne. This wine from the Collines Rhodaniennes - the hills and valleys that surround the Rhône River - is such an example, and has reached a new level of finesse, detail and quality with the favourable conditions in 2015. Textbook aromas of black olive, allspice and fragrant dark berries precede a fleshy, weightless palate and flavours of black fruits , pepper, cinammon and clove. A testament to the skill of Ogier as a master craftsman of syrah.
Ogier’s wines just keep getting better and better, so if you haven’t yet jumped on the Ogier bandwagon, it’s time to do so.
