Unico Zelo at the forefront of showing differing styles of Fiano
Fiano – Often referred to as the ‘Riesling of South Italy’ from Campania
This wine is a true pleasure to craft. One of the most complex noses of any white variety. Full of white peach blossoms, honeydew and lemon, all covered in a generous splash of Grannysmith Apple. This continues onto an electric palate, lifted by a rich fruit-sweetness, and sparked to life with a crispy acidity. A pleasure to drink at any time of the day. Aromatic and Textural.
Brendan and Laura Carter sure have hit the ground running with their Unico Zelo wines; a confluence of interesting booze, considered and intelligent rationalisation about winemaking decisions (fascinating and lengthy chats with Brendan evidence this; hard to have a short tasting with the fella), experimental enthusiasm and an affordability that many others of a similar ilk seem to overlook. Lots of ticks.
