Arneis was locally called 'White Nebbiolo' and was often co-planted with Nebbiolo and left to hang in the vineyard to distract the birds from eating the red grapes. Luca Faccend a (one of the regions stars) fashions one of Roero's benchmark Arneis from very old vines. This combined with sensitive winemaking results in a wine that has significantly more texture and weight than many of it's peers. A glass of this after a hard day tasting nebbiolo, can be just the ticket!
If Giacosa + Vietti put Arneis on the map this guy should bethe tour guide. The new wave arrives to Roero
